One Last Time . . . with feeling!
So, it's almost over. This is our final video post from our last night on the Wedding Road Trip. Now I know what you're all thinking. What no more great videos? Fear not my Tanya and I will continue to update this blog in some fashion to keep you all abreast of our activites and we will continue to serve up the same type of fresh, engaging and quality content you've become so accustomed to from us.
Well, that's all for now. We had a great time putting all of this together and we hope you enjoyed following along. When we get some free time we'll go back and upload some tunes for you all at the posts that don't have it. Check back in occassionally and feel free to download away.

Our second and final day in Texas!
As if we needed a reason
So in addition to the audio portion of this post, yes we did another audioblog from Tanya (under duress even), we've got another little surprise. Audioblog is first, music is second as always and the treat should show up automatically. As with all things web related we count on the support of your browser. Wouldn't now be a good time to switch to Firefox? For most you will have to download the link and play it in your favorite video player, might we suggest the awesome cross platform open source and free VLC player?
Pick 'Em Up, Put 'Em Down
So this morning we walked the French Quarter starting at about 7:30 when Finn decided he needed a walk. Got some pics of NOLA coming to life from our room on the twelfth floor. Actually got a suite last night at La Quinta, one of the nicest La Quinta's you'll ever stay at. It really helps visit major city's during the week.
Besides being a beautiful old city, Tanya and I were struck how much like NYC it is. Albeit NOLA starts its mornings a little later the routine is the same, the hustle and bustle of the early morning deliveries and people strolling to work.
In the Quarter even the bars open early even if they have just gone to bed.
We strolled up and down the side streets for about three hours, dodging the occassional rain that seemed to let loose every half hour or so. Everyone was genuinely friendly and genuinely southern. I'm trying to convince Tanya to maybe move here :-)
In all seriousness the only thing I'm trying to convince Tanya of today is to take over the driving once we hit Texas.

The Long Road Home
WOW!! What a weekend!
A big thank you to everyone who came to big day, the party, the Day After BBQ. Unbelievable! We're still talking about how much fun we had hanging out with all of you and the time we were able to share with each and every person. What a great weekend, we really couldn't have done it without all of you.
So we're pulling out this morning, said goodbye to my folks and just left Tanya's a little while ago. Everyone was so happy and thrilled with the way everything turned out. As my Dad likes to say somebody must be looking out for us because of the weather, no red tide, everything went like clock work. Hey sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!
So we've figured out that if we go 650 miles a day we should make it back home in 4 days with a nice easy trip. The problem there is that it's raining like crazy right now and we're going about 35 on 75. The other problem is that it's about 715 miles to New Orleans and we want to head to the French Quarter tonight. So we'll see.
We'll post some pics later if we ever get the chance.
UPDATE!! UPDATE!!
Yup made it to the Big Easy. See terrible cam pics below

Not quite out of Texas yet
so the westport high class of '88 had their 20 year reunion last night at the Beaumont Holiday Inn. What luck we stumbled into that at 1 am.
so we're really cruising today. We got the GPS issue tackled, now we just don't listen to her!
Today's going to be our longest day at about 950 miles.
Driving through New Orleans this morning and you still get the sense that things have not yet returned to quite normal. it really is amazing to to see it finally after all this time.
So we're estimating an arrival into Sarasota around 11pm. we'll see how that works out. maybe I can get one more audio post out of Tanya.
oh yeah since I'm writing this one from my phone, no pictures or songs until later.
seems my cigarette lighter power adapter from duracell doesn't want to throw out enough juice for the ibook. so if anyone knows anyone at duracell feel free to let them know that this things a hunk of junk. I'm suprised some crazed aol junkie trucker hasn't made it to Duracell's headquarters demanding somebodies head on a platter.
