Beef's Bio
Like Tanya, I am the oldest child. My parents are Jim and Liz Moore. My brothers Kevan and Bryce round out our family unit. My younger brother Bryce, got married a while back to Kerry who has become like family. I kid, I kid. All right enough with the routine.
I'm Beef.
If you know me, that's how you think of me, that's what I answer to, that's who I am.
I was born in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1975. So yes, that means Tanya is older than me. Which statistically speaking works out well. Right now women live on average about 4 years longer then men. So if we're lucky we'll be getting under each other's skin up to the end. That is actually a lot more fun than it sounds.
I mean if this website doesn't give you some insight into how crazy we are for each other, well then you might want to make it to the wedding. I promise you it's gonna be a little wacky.
I grew up in the Detroit Metro area, which gives me absolutely zero street cred. There were a few years in Colorado, but I wouldn't call them formative years.
I went to Detroit Country Day School for grade school. Dressed up one year as Tootsie (I was a dead ringer by the way) and only recently found out that my principal and future football coach thought that because of that I might be gay. Oh what fun tolerant times.
There were a couple of years where me and my brothers all went to a Catholic School. That was a riot. Yes, I was an alter boy. That's also where I started playing football. Which, if you're really good you've probably figured out, that's where I got the name Beef. First it was Beefy, and somewhere along the way it became just Beef. Works for me, better than the Wooly Mammoth name I had in fourth grade. I'm not even going there.
So, after my parents church school experiment we went back to DCDS. It was a little better this time. Well except for my 8th grade football coach wanting to fight me in the wrestling room and another future high school coach enabling him as the complete psychopath I assume he still is. If you ever run into him, give him my love.
So we managed to last a few more years there before we all transferred to crosstown rival Cranbrook. Best couple of years of my entire educational experience. If you make it to the wedding you'll be able to meet some of the fellas that I count as extended family.
After that off to college in Memphis, TN for a couple years. Long story.
Then Bryce and I moved out to Missoula, MT. Good times out there. Snowboarding, drinking and carousing. Made some great friends there, who hopefully show up and stop blocking our emails. Thanks Jeff!
Then back home to Detroit for a while then New York City for grad school. After that I knew I had to make my way to Los Angeles if I wanted to get serious about this film thing I kept telling everyone about. So I moved out here and could not get a job to save my life. If you've read the paper in the last year you might know that we just went through a big writer's strike. Well in 2001, there was 9-11 and the threat of an actor's strike. No work for anyone yet movies were still being made.
Finally I took a job at a gym. That's where I met Tanya.
You might say nothing has been normal since, but really, after reading this, has anything ever been normal?
